Responsibilities:
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is recruiting a faculty member with an interest in DNA damage response to enhance its translational research program. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the Radiation Biology Course for the Residency program. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have a record of outstanding productivity. A substantial start-up package is available for an outstanding investigator. UVA has a very active and increasing number of investigators in the area of DNA damage. A desire to collaborate with and actively engage others in both the Department and Cancer Center with interests in radiation response/sensitizers for brain and prostate cancers is essential. Although the primary appointment for this position will be in the Department of Radiation Oncology, a secondary appointment in a basic science Department is anticipated.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have a record of outstanding productivity required. A desire to collaborate with and actively engage others in both the Department and Cancer Center with interests in radiation response/sensitizers for brain and prostate cancers is essential. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the Radiation Biology Course for the Residency program. An interest in DNA damage response to enhance its translational research program required.
